Lisa Morales releases "Rain in the Desert" 5-song EP

Includes: "Freedom" and "Flyin' & Cryin'" Duet with Rodney Crowell

San Antonio, Tx. Highly anticipated EP from Mexican American vocalist, and Americana singer-songwriter, Lisa Morales, "Rain in the Desert" releases March 11th. The 5-song EP includes original songs by Lisa Morales and a duet collaboration with Rodney Crowell.

Freedom is the lead single from her highly anticipated third solo album She Ought to Be King. The Texas-based artist calls on people to come together in these stressful personal and political times. She demands people's rights and paints everyday portraits of the pressures of motherhood and womanhood. The single is produced by noted singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist David Garza. "Freedom" features Santana co-founder Gregg Rolie, who plays organ and provides backing vocals. It also features bassist Tim Lefebvre, keyboardist Rachel Eckroth and drummer Beth Goodfellow. It was recorded at the renowned Sonic Ranch Recording Studio in Tornillo, Texas, which gave Morales an isolated and creative environment to focus on making music.

Flyin" & Cryin" featuring Rodney Crowell. This single is a teaser for Morales’s upcoming album. With an ultra-subtle production of sighing strings, gently brushed drums and acoustic strumming, the duet achingly delineates a lost relationship. Rodney’s seasoned tones match Lisa’s resonant delivery exquisitely. She was half of Sisters Morales until sailing on as a solo with two prior CDs. Her sibling Roberta died of cancer last year. Mexican American Lisa Morales hails from Tuscon and is a cousin of the legendary Linda Ronstadt. ~ MusicRow
